El Paso zoo

Watching my son watching the bubbles in the most golden hour of the day. Magic.
Santi attended his very first football game! To my dad's dismay it was not my alma mater, the Vista Panthers. It was the 80th annual Sun Bowl! UCLA vs VA Tech. UCLA killed VA 42-12! Go bruins!
The only thing better than being a kid at Christmas time, is watching your own kids on Christmas.
We had an awesome pre-Christmas celebration in San Diego with my family, before heading to El Paso. Santi wasn't too sure about tearing open wrapping paper, but it didn't take him too long to catch on!
Santi surprised us on Christmas morning with the sweet and unexpected gift of sleeping in until 9:30am! He's a great sleeper and all, but 9:30 breaks all of his previous records!
We spent the day at Abe's parents house with lots of family and friends. Santi had a wonderful day (besides skipping his nap!) and was given so many thoughtful gifts.
Just a few more days!
Santi usually wakes up from his nap around 2 or 3pm. That gives us about 3 hours of playtime before dinner. Every evening we try to go on an adventure. Some days it's an exciting trip to Trader Joes, other days it's to LegoLand or the park.
Tonight we strolled the Batiquitos Lagoon and witnessed the most breathtaking sunset. The beauty of the sky reflects just an ounce of the beauty I see in my sons smile.
We started our day with a beach walk in Oceanside to see the Turkey Trotters cross the finish line.
We had a non-traditional vegetarian feast of homemade butternut squash soup, sweet and savory roasted veggie stuffing and a Julian apple pie. Yummy! Vegetarians can have fun on Turkey Day too!
Our lovely day ended with a jaunt through LegoLand, which was surprisingly empty. Santi loved running wild and checking out the decorations.
We have a great park close to home that has peacocks to chase and tractors to see! Santi loves it!
Guess what? They are not fun. At all.
Fussy, fever, drool monster for five days. Waking up 5-6 times a night, holy moly. It was awful.
We're heading to El Paso! We stopped at our usual spot in Tucson for the night. Santi loved exploring the property with his tractor. Oh, and we let Santi drive. It makes for a very exciting road trip :)
After three bad falls in one week we decided it was in his best interest to get his beautiful hair out of his beautiful eyes, to protect his beautiful face!
I took Santi to Disconnected Salon, where he always gets the royal treatment. Despite crying through the entire appointment, Neil still invited Santi to sit on his motorcycle. What a treat! We're adjusting to our little guys new look. He looks too mature!
He melts my heart by the minute
Santi LOVES tractors right now. Melissa & I took the boys to Leo Carrillo park so they could see some up close. They even got to chase a few peacocks.
Sometimes, when I take him to the store, if I only have one or two things to grab, I let him walk with me and hold my hand. Sometimes he stays right by my side, other times he runs off and waits to be chased. Do you see the speck that is Santi at the end of the aisle?
My baby is a little big boy! Almost a year and a half old.
He's full of adventure and sweetness, mischief and defiance. He makes sure that everyday is interesting and different. Everyday we are faced with great challenges and amazed by great revelations. He is truly my heart and soul roaming free.
