Road trip
/We're heading to El Paso! We stopped at our usual spot in Tucson for the night. Santi loved exploring the property with his tractor. Oh, and we let Santi drive. It makes for a very exciting road trip :)

After three bad falls in one week we decided it was in his best interest to get his beautiful hair out of his beautiful eyes, to protect his beautiful face!
I took Santi to Disconnected Salon, where he always gets the royal treatment. Despite crying through the entire appointment, Neil still invited Santi to sit on his motorcycle. What a treat! We're adjusting to our little guys new look. He looks too mature!
He melts my heart by the minute
Santi LOVES tractors right now. Melissa & I took the boys to Leo Carrillo park so they could see some up close. They even got to chase a few peacocks.
The days of carrying Santi to or from the car are long gone. Over the last few months he's has become more adamant about walking out of the house all by himself!
Sometimes, when I take him to the store, if I only have one or two things to grab, I let him walk with me and hold my hand. Sometimes he stays right by my side, other times he runs off and waits to be chased. Do you see the speck that is Santi at the end of the aisle?
My baby is a little big boy! Almost a year and a half old.
He's full of adventure and sweetness, mischief and defiance. He makes sure that everyday is interesting and different. Everyday we are faced with great challenges and amazed by great revelations. He is truly my heart and soul roaming free.
Santi's BFF Kaison turned one! They celebrated by splashing around in Kai's back yard.
Abe has had his getaways and I've had mine, but for the first time since Santi was born, we had two nights away, just the two of us. Coco and grandpa Rick stayed with him while Abe and I jetted off to VEGAS!
We stayed in a beautiful suite at the Cosmopolitan with an amazing view of the Bellagio fountain. We gambled. We enjoyed cocktails. We had two delicious dinners at Scarpetta and Tao. I even tried my hardest to sleep in...that is harder than it sounds. I'm up at 7am no matter what (so annoying!). We had a great time, it was long overdue! We are both looking forward to our next getaway!
Check out Santi on peekkids.com! Our little supermodel❤
Last week Santi spotted a little lizard on our porch. Everyday since then, every time we leave the house, he stomps around the porch shouting "doggie! doggie!" Calling for the lizard. LOL! It is too cute.
Seventeen months suits him well. He's running wild these days, testing his boundaries, testing our rules, laughing, smiling, teasing us, peek-a-booing, chasing Stella and making every minute a memorable one!
I ran my 4th half marathon! I'm not the fastest but I am injury free! And that is more important to me.
Sorry we've been MIA!
We are having a fantastic summer, just watching Santi play and explore new things everyday!
LegoLand with our besties, Melissa and Kaison.
Santi is now 32 inches tall and he weighs 24lbs 9oz.
He has SIXTEEN teeth
Sleeps 7pm-7am (usually!)
Naps once a day 11am-1pm (usually!)
Uses straw cups most of the day but still has a bottle before bed
He always points out dogs and airplanes
Pushing his truck or motorcycle around the house is his favorite activity
He loves The Lorax (the only movie he's seen)
It will ALWAYS be the "Del Mar Fair" to me!
We've taken Santi twice this year and it was so fun to watch him take in all of the excitement.
When Santi was 6 months old, I joined Stroller Strides. To be honest, I thought it would be an easy workout, with lame moms and obnoxious kids. Luckily for me, it's not like that at all!!
I've been going 2-3 times a week since last October and I absolutely love it. I always look forward to class. The routes and workouts are as challenging as you make them and the other moms and kids are awesome. Santi and I are so lucky to be part of this strong, supportive community.
A group of 15 of us signed up to do the "World Famous Camp Pendleton Mud Run!" We had a blast! It was a hilly 10k (6.2 miles) with muddy obstacles. We finished as a complete team in 1:27. Pretty good for a bunch of Mama's!
How cute are our shirt?! Abe printed them!
Our little love is so grown up!
He is full of personality, he laughs when we laugh, he knows what he wants and he knows how to get it!
Santi is still a great sleeper, 7pm-7am usually and he's down to one nap during the day. He's using straw cups more and more as we're trying to wean off the bottle. My favorite word that he says is "yesh." To my delight, he has yet to say NO! Thank goodness. His comprehension is incredible. He knows open/close, off/on, up/down. He sleeps with a few of his best buds, lion, giraffe, monkey and "Doug" (the dog)! He loves bath time and can splash on command.
I'm sure I should be ashamed of this, I'm also kinda proud, but he knows how to Cheers! It's the cutest!
I love being a mom, or should I say Santi's Mom, more than I could have ever imagined. He makes me feel like I found my purpose in this life. Happy Mothers Day!
